Tourney Bringing The Best Out of State’s Bowlers
Two weekends of bowling -- three 300 games and an 800 series.
Participants in the 86th New York State Open Championships, conducted by the Empire State USBC BA, are finding the lanes at Rapids Bowling Center in Niagara Falls and Tonawanda Bowling Center to their liking.
On April l0, William Fesetch of Elmira, 34, and Eddie Torres, 26, of Kingston, rolled perfect games. While Fesetch finished with a 619 series after the 300 opener, Torres continued the hot hand, adding 279 and 257 for an 836 series in the doubles competition.
Then this past Sunday, April 18, John Danielewicz of Sanborn shot a 300 middle game en route to a 746 series in the team event.
You can see the current unofficial standings on this web site.
The tournament continues with action on April 24-25, May 1-2 and May 15-16, with the team event at Rapids and the doubles and singles at Tonawanda Bowling Center. To enter, download the entry form on this web site or call Paul Kupelian, association manager, at 315-623-7100.
